Franck joined FundRock in 2019 and is responsible for all activities related to alternative investments within FundRock. Franck has over 12 years’ of experience in the financial services sector. Before joining FundRock, Franck held numerous roles in UBS Asset Management in Chicago, including that of Investment Risk Manager for Alternative Investments specializing in the management of Hedge Funds, Funds of Hedge Funds, Real Estate and Infrastructure. Franck has been Analyst for UBS Global Investment Solutions for two years, covering US Pension Funds. He has also worked in UBS Fund Services and in CACEIS within their pricing departments, valuing complex derivative instruments and other ‘exotic products’. Franck holds a Masters degree in Finance from the Ecole Superieure de Management in Metz and an Engineering Diploma from the Ecole Nationale d’Ingenieurs de Metz.
Romain joined FundRock in 2016. He brings with him more than 15 years of experience of developing IT platforms. He has managed front and back-office software solutions, built efficient information systems and in-house tools such as Fund Order Management Systems. Romain started his career in 2001 at ProCapital/Fortuneo, helping them build and later support their securities services platform, which was one of the on-line success stories in France. He then joined SunGard Financial Services in 2010, running large scale multi-national change programs, gaining experience that led to the launch of his company “Onside Consulting” in 2012. Onside Consulting helped companies manage complex change projects and built efficient electronic payments and financial services solutions.
Chris joined FundRock in Luxembourg in 2017 as a Senior Client Relationship Manager, responsible for the day to day query management and coordination on behalf of clients and delegates across Asia, Europe and the US for funds in the UK, Ireland and Luxembourg. Currently he is the Director of Client Relationship Management, Onboarding and Reporting.
Prior to joining FundRock, Chris spent 14 years working in client facing roles across different asset sectors in the UK and Luxembourg. He began his career with a Global Asset Manager in 2004, and in 2007, he moved with the firm from London to Luxembourg. In Luxembourg, he managed Client Service teams for a Nordic Private Bank and leading Alternative Asset Fund Administrators focusing on private equity and real estate investments.
Chris studied Business Management & Computer Science at London Metropolitan University.
Anne Empain joined (FUNDROCK/The Apex Group) in October 2021 following the acquisition of ARM Swiss representatives SA by the Apex Group. In 2014 Anne co-founded and was CEO of ARM Swiss Representatives SA. Since then she assisted over 500 fund managers to market their fund in Switzerland in compliance with local rules. Anne has extensive experience in legal, compliance and product development for alternative asset managers. She has held various senior structuring and legal positions with EIM, UBP, Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley. Anne is a Qualified English solicitor (Hogan Lovells) and has a Master of Law from the Université des Sciences Sociales in Toulouse. She has been based in Switzerland since 2003. She is a founding member of the Geneva Chapter of 100 Women in Finance. She holds a Corporate Governance certificate from INSEAD accomplished in 2018. Anne is a member of the board of directors of Bruellan SA since 2020 and Make A Wish Switzerland Foundation since 2021.
Arnaud joined FundRock in 2020 to co-manage FundRock Distribution activity. He has more than 25 years of experience as an EMEA institutional business developer and relationship manager in London. Arnaud has had an extensive exposure to and knowledge of portfolio management, strategic asset allocation, LDI/CDI, capital market and Fintech. Prior to joining FundRock, he worked at Sumitomo Mitsui DS Asset Management where he was Head of European Business Development and Client Relations, and before worked at Insight Investment as a Sales director, Pareto Investment and Wellington Management International. Arnaud is a Swiss citizen and fully qualified CFA® charterholder.
Thibault joined FundRock in 2017 as Chief Financial Officer. Before joining FundRock, he started his career as an auditor for 11 years in Arthur Andersen then in Ernst & Young in France and got an extensive knowledge of accounting processes and rules, private equity transactions and IPO as well finance reporting for industry listed and not listed clients. He then joined a family office for 7 years as Finance Director managing seven small business acquisitions for the group and the treasury. He acted as General Manager in some of the business acquired. Thibault graduated from EM Lyon Business School and has a diploma of French Certified Public Accountant.
Simon joined FundRock in November 2019 and is Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of FundRock Partners in the UK. Simon has worked in the financial services industry for over 25 years and has extensive knowledge of the European Funds market the Fund Services business. Simon has worked with clients internationally on business acquisitions, new fund structures and established outsourced service models. Prior to joining FundRock, he has held senior positions at Citi and JPMorgan within their Funds Services business and also for Threadneedle Asset Management where he held positions with Product Development and Operations.
Marie joined FundRock in 2018 and is the Managing Director for Distribution. She has more than 25 years of experience. Prior to joining FundRock, Marie was the Managing Director of SEB Fund Services, a third party Management Company within the SEB group. Before moving from Sweden to Luxembourg in 2014, Marie has held various manager as well as sales positions within SEB and HQ Fonder (today Carnegie Fonder) over the years.
Head of Fundrock Singapore Management Company Pte. Ltd
Nicholas joined Fundrock in May 2021, as Head of Fundrock Singapore Management Company Pte. Ltd, he brings with him over twenty years of experience working in Financial markets. Nicholas has spent over 12 years covering the Asian markets with extensive experience in Private Equity, Alternatives and Traditional investment strategies. Prior to Joining Fundrock he was General Manager and Head of Business Development for Unigestion Asia Pte Ltd.
Jean Edouard joined FundRock in 2020 and is based in Paris. He leads our ManCo service in France, driving our expansion into the French private equity real estate sector. He was previously Managing Director and Head of Real Estate at Twenty First, helping to create and develop the asset manager’s real estate fund management business, raising €2 billion in assets by the end of 2019. He has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, and has held various management roles including Director General at OSCA Fund Management and Foncière Volta.
Emmanuel joined FundRock in 2019 and is the Director of Compliance. He has a solid experience as Compliance officer with major international organizations including Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch and JPMorgan. Previously, he was Head of Europe Compliance in the private Swiss bank Mirabaud. Emmanuel holds a business law degree from Assas-Paris II University (France) and an Executive Specialized Master in Financial and Fiscal Engineering from ESCP Europe High school.
Xavier Parain joined FundRock in January 2019 as Group Chief Executive Officer and following the firm’s acquisition by Apex Group in 2021 is now Head of FundRock.
Prior to that, Xavier worked for 7 years at Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), where he held the position of Managing Director at the Asset Management Directorate. At AMF, he developed strong relationships with European regulators and collaborated with them on several occasions, most notably in the case of Brexit through numerous working groups. Xavier has also solid experience in the banking and asset management sectors and has held executive roles within major international organisations. Among others, he served as the CEO of FundLogic, Morgan Stanley’s funds and hedge funds distribution platform and was also the President of Merrill Lynch Invest, Merrill Lynch’s asset management firm specialising in structured funds.
Xavier holds an engineering degree from the ENSTA (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Techniques Avancées) and is an alumnus of the Ecole Polytechnique.
Gaetan joined FundRock in 2020 and is RCCI at FFAM & Group Head of Regulatory Affairs. Based in Paris, Gaetan has over 14 years of experience in the financial services industry with extensive expertise in EU and French asset management regulations. Previously he mainly worked within the French Market Authority (AMF), the European Commission and the World Bank. He started his career in 2006 after his graduation in Financial Engineering and Law from the IUP of Caen. Since then, he’s held various positions and responsibilities. Gaetan has been in charge of Bank, Insurance and Debt issuances programs, contributed to several ESMA task forces on AIFMD, involved in cross boarder distribution of investment funds regulation/directive and the Fintech task force, inspected European Regulation and assessed the overall impact affecting the Global Market Division.
Hugues joined FundRock in 2018 and is our Risk & Compliance Director. Hugues has over 13 years of experience in the financial services sector. Prior to joining FundRock he served as Risk Manager for 7 years in a Hedge Fund in Paris (Sigmalog Capital). Additionally, he was a project manager consultant for 6 years and lead global projects for major actors on the market (BNPParibas CIB, Candriam AM, KBL Private Banking…). He holds a Master in Economics and he is a FRM Charter and Prince2 certified.
Paul is an experienced managing director and entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in financial markets and services. He has extensive knowledge of the European regulatory landscape and investor drivers for both the alternative and traditional fund management spheres. Paul has worked with clients from around the world looking to establish European management and fund structures for both open and closed ended funds. He is a regular commentator in the financial press and speaks regularly at conferences and events.
Paul graduated from Queen Mary College, University of London before starting his career at Thomson Reuters. Paul joined FundRock from Apex Fund Services where he was Head of European Sales and Managing Director of their UK operations.
